Reception – Homework

E-learning – End of year project – 13/7/20

It was great seeing the children again last week and we are so proud of them walking into school confidently with big smiles on their faces after a long period at home.

It is now the last week of the school year and it is therefore time for us to summarise the year.

End of Year Project

The Teams timetable will be in your child’s shared files by the end of the day.

Staff of the Reception classes.

Reception Visit Week – 6/7/20

The children seem to be enjoying the pirate themed work and the work we received last week was excellent, thank you! This week the teachers will be in school seeing the children by group, we can’t wait!

The end of term is quickly approaching and it is time for the children to meet their new Year 1 teacher and for the children to introduce themselves to the Year 1 teachers. Information about the transition activities are found on j2homework and there is also a special video from their new teacher in their shared files on j2e.

We have also shared a video explaining how to enter and exit the school this week and showing the children how the class will look.

There will be no live streaming calls this Friday as we will be in school.

We’ll see you very soon!

Mrs Alaw, Miss Evans and Miss Thompson

E-learning – Pirates – 29/06/20

Thank you for your excellent effort whilst completing the health, fitness and well-being challenges last week! There is still time for you to complete the challenges and to send us your pictures. Please send any pictures to the class teacher by Wednesday the 1st of July if you would like a picture of your child in our celebratory video.

The end of term is quickly approaching and our magic carpet has landed somewhere very exciting…..pirate island! We hope that we meet some friendly pirates!

Here are your activities for the week.

Pirate Activities

We are very excited that we will be able to see the children in school next week. Please complete the questionnaire by Wednesday the 1st of July stating if your child will be returning to school or not. The school will then contact informing you of which day your child will be visiting.

We will share the Teams timetable on Thursday as we will be discussing the return to school with the children.

A special song from the staff of Treganna.

Foundation Phase Health, Fitness and Well-being Week

One of our highlights of the summer term is the Sports Day but unfortunately due to the current circumstances we will be unable to hold the day this year. To celebrate the importance of taking care of our bodies and our minds we will be holding a Health, Fitness and Well-being week.

There are 20 challenges for your child to try and complete and there will also be an additional “challenge of the day” shared with your child through their Teams page (Year 2) or in their Shared files on j2e (Year 1 and Reception). You might see some familiar faces!

Health, Fitness and Well-being Activities

Please send us photos or videos on your child completing the challenges through Teams or J2e. We will be preparing a video to celebrate the week.

Your child can complete the challenges against family members or against a friend in the park (following social distancing rules).

I wonder if your child’s class teacher will be able to complete some of the challenges?

Pob lwc!

Foundation Phase Staff

p.s. live streaming sessions will continue this week.

E-learning – India – 15/06/20

Our adventure on the magic carpet continues and this week we’ll be flying to India. Here are the activities for the week.

India Activities

Please check your child’s shared files on j2e to find resources to support their learning. We have added two tiles to your child’s j2e homepage – Amser Stori Atebol (story time) and Llyfrau Cymraeg (Welsh books).

Diolch,

The staff of Mabon, Olwen and Bedwyr

E-learning – Africa – 8/6/20

Well the pasta cooking videos made us laugh last week, the children were brilliant!

This week the magic carpet will leave Europe and continue it’s journey in Africa.

Africa Activities

Please remember about the live streaming on Teams every Friday morning. This session is a really valuable time for your child to talk with their class teacher and their classmates. Ensuring regular contact with the class teacher will help ease your child’s transition back to school. If you require any assistance with Teams please feel free to contact the school on Tuesday as Mrs Alaw will be in the school all day.

Diolch,

The staff of Mabon, Olwen and Bedwyr

E-learning – Italy – 2/6/20

Welcome back,

We hope you enjoyed the sunny weather – who needs a magic carpet to travel around the world when Wales is so sunny?!

Yesterday was Global Parents Day and here is a little something we prepared to thank you. https://www.j2e.com/ysgol-gymraeg-treganna/Mrs+Alaw/Diolch+Thank+you/

This week we’ll be heading over to Italy and learn a little about the food!

The Teams live streaming timetable will be in your child’s shared files on j2e by the end of the day.

The Staff of Mabon, Olwen and Bedwyr

Half Term

Thank you to all of you for your hard work over the last few weeks. It is very strange to think that we haven’t been together in the class for 9 weeks. We really do miss the children!

The main thing we would like you to do over the half term break is to relax and enjoy time together as a family. If your child would like to complete some activities we have attached the Seren a Sbarc challenge calendar.

Seren a Sbarc May Challenge Calendar

Would it be possible to send your child’s “Diolch” photo through j2e by Friday the 29th please.

The summer term activities will continue on Tuesday the 2nd of June – teachers will not be available online on Monday the 1st due to INSET day.

Have a lovely week and thank from the bottom of our hearts for everything you’ve done to help your child,

The Staff of Mabon, Olwen and Bedwyr

E-learning – Spain – 18/5/2020

Good morning!

It was lovely to talk to the children again on Friday over Teams. This Friday’s timetable will be available in shared files by Tuesday morning. Please check that you can access your child’s Team before Friday morning. This will ensure that staff have time to solve any problems.

This week we will continue our adventure on the magic carpet by flying to Spain.

Spain Activities

Unfortunately, this week’s story will be a little late as Mrs Alaw is still waiting for the book to arrive in the post! Hopefully it will be available on j2e by Monday evening.

The class teachers will now use j2message to send group messages. You are welcome to reply to these messages – only the class teacher will be able to see your reply.

Please remember that next week is half term week therefore the teachers will not be online daily.

Thank you and have a great week,

The Staff of Mabon, Olwen and Bedwyr
