Hello year 6!
We hope you’ve all had a relaxing weekend!
Last week, we were so impressed with the way that each of you contributed to the activities, tasks and meetings. It was wonderful to see each of you giving 100% and producing excellent work.
This week, we are moving on to study a new subject: renewable energy! Here is the bingo card:

Renewable and sustainable energy
A Welsh task this week.
This week, you will be looking at different types of renewable/sustainable energy and you will be expressing your opinion about them.
*It is important that you look over the Powerpoint/loom video that Mrs Miles-Farrier has done in order to understand the introduction to this week’s work. This will be on TEAMS for you.*
In brief, there will be three tasks for you to complete across the week:
1) Create a questionnaire for your family members about renewable/sustainable energy (details on the loom video).
2) Research advantages and disadvantages of different types of renewable and sustainable energy.
3) By the end of the week – write an opinion piece about your favourite renewable energy in order to persuade people that this energy is best for the situation (details on the loom video).
Numeracy
Our maths skill this week is learn about the volume of cubes and cuboids. As we’ve recently learnt about area and perimeter, this is the next step.
Give Mr Lewis’s videos a watch and listen as he goes through the Powerpoint and the steps you need to take to measure the volume. Apologies that it’s in 2 parts but I spoke too much to fit it into one.
As soon as you’ve completed the powerpoint and have tried the exercises, go ahead and try the red, orange, green or green green challenges.
Good luck and if you have any questions, please let me know.
And last but not least…
Tackle the Big Maths challenges, practise with TT rockstars and read on BUGS Online.
Remember to contact us on TEAMS if you’ve got any issues or questions.
We will also be updating each class’ website with more of your impressive work.
Thanks,
Mr Davies, Mr Lewis and Mrs Miles-Farrier.
