Homework 2.10.2020

Hello year 6,

Once again, another busy and interesting week has flown by. We have been looking at the history of Cardiff Bay, practising our multiplication and division skills and looking at blogs for our Big Writing next week. Our Big Write is to write a blog persuading tourists to visit Cardiff Bay.

In order to support our Big Write, for this week’s homework you will be interactive tour guides showing how Cardiff Bay has developed and changed over time. This week’s homework is in Welsh. You should use Adobe Spark, Flipgrid (available through Hwb) or any other video creating software of your choice. Pob lwc!

You will need to present your work via Assignments in TEAMS by Wednesday, the 7th of October. If there is a problem, please let us know.

Things to think about:

  • Power of 3: Repeating words 3 times to emphasize the fact.
  • Emotional vocab: Words that make you feel a certain way.
  • Rhetorical questions: Questions that you don’t accept an answer.
  • Facts and figures (data): To prove that these are correct.
  • Idioms: Heb os nac oni bai, rhoi’r ffidil yn y tô, bwrw hen wragedd a ffyn, a’i wynt yn ei ddwrn…
  • Images
  • Vary the tone of your voice and to express words in an enthusiastic way: As tour guides, you have to keep the interest of your listeners by being interesting and energetic.

The next week’s spelling will be Welsh spelling. They are on TEAMS.

With our open day days away, please let us know of any question or queries you may have before the evening. Please send via your child’s individual channel on TEAMS.

Have a lovely weekend, Mrs Miles-Farrier, Mr Davies and Mr Lewis
