Darllenwch Mwy…Welcome
Welcome to Ysgol Treganna
The foundational principles of Ysgol Treganna are rooted in our origin as a “small school in the big city,” a concept that has guided our journey since 1987. We have now grown to be a school of 700 pupils divided into three learning communities led by our assistant deputies. Our school comprises 21 classes, organised to optimize the learning experience for every child. Our learning communities are a practical means of fostering a sense of belonging, care and familial connection within our school community and the prosperity of pupils and their well-being is at the heart of everything we do here at the school.
At Ysgol Treganna, we embrace collaboration with the extended family of our community as a cornerstone of our educational approach. Central to our philosophy is the development of an ambitious and relevant curriculum that ignites our pupils’ imagination and nurtures their curiosity.
Welshness, the language, and Welsh culture are an integral part of our vision. Beyond merely acquiring language skills, we firmly believe in the significance of immersing every pupil in the culture of our country. It is not just about learning the language; it is about providing a holistic experience that fosters a genuine connection to our Welsh identity.
As the head of the school, I want to create a culture of possibility at Ysgol Treganna where a willingness to learn, embrace new ideas, to aim for excellence is an integral part of the school’s vision. But also developing a caring and inclusive culture that supports and celebrates the “small school in the big city”. The small is the closeness and the sense of belonging within the communities, but then the greatness that emerges when the individual communities within our school come together as one, creating a school that stands as one strong entity.
I am extremely proud to be the headteacher of Ysgol Treganna and lead a team of committed and enthusiastic staff who put the needs of our children first.
You are very welcome to visit us at Ysgol Treganna!
